Pastoral Changes for Los Aros UMC:
Bishop Carcaño has appointed Pastor Devine to serve at Sunrise UMC in Phoenix as of July 1. David will have been our pastor for four years and the move is in keeping with the itinerant pastor policy of the United Methodist Church. Bev will continue to serve as an Associate Chaplain at the Beatitudes Campus of Care. Since Sunrise UMC does not have a parsonage, David and Bev have been able to purchase a home at an ideal time in the housing market.
Rev. Cynthia Kristopeit who is currently the pastor at Mission Bell UMC in Phoenix will replace Pastor Devine. Rev. Kristopeit is a graduate of Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois and served churches in the Dakotas and Wisconsin Conferences before coming to the Desert Southwest Conference in 2004. Cindy is known for her creative worship and excellent sermons, her commitment to missions and outreach, her love for children and youth, and her passion for pastoral care and calling. Cindy is married to Bill Uminski. Cindy and Bill will be moving into the Los Arcos parsonage in June.
Rev. Kristopeit will continue her service at Mission Bell UMC through June, 2009, and will begin as our pastor on July 1, 2009.
